What is the tilt switch?
When the vertically suspended tilt switch probe is subjected to an external force and deviates from the vertical position by more than 17 degrees, the metal ball contact inside the tilt switch is actuated, and the normally closed contact is opened. When the external force is removed, the tilt switch returns to the vertical state and the metal ball contacts are closed again. Tilt switches include light tilt switches and heavy tilt switches. Typical applications of light tilt switches include grain, fodder, plastic balls and pet food. Typical applications of heavy duty tilt switches include coal, ores, rocks, mixtures and loose sand.
The measuring principle of the tilted switch is that when the tilt switch probe is vertically suspended and deviates more than 17 degrees from the vertical position, the metal ball contact inside the tilted switch is operated and the often closed contact is broken. When the external force is removed, the tilting switch reverts to the vertical state, and the metal ball contact is closed again.
